Srinagar: At least eight Indian troops, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were injured in an attack in Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Beyond the Time News, the injuries were sustained during a cordon-and-search operation in the general area of Sonnar in the Chatroo area of the Chenab Valley. Most of the troops were injured in a grenade blast.
Indian forces officials said that reinforcements, including personnel from the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG), have been deployed to strengthen the cordon.

The operation, named “Operation Trashi-I” by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps deployed in Jammu, began on Saturday.
Advanced surveillance equipment, including drones and sniffer dogs, has been deployed to speed up the operation, the officials added.
Meanwhile, an Indian Army–backed Village Defence Group (VDG) member opened fire in the Nowshera area on the pretext of noticing some suspicious movement.
Separately, the body of an unidentified woman was discovered near a nallah behind the Government Medical College (GMC) in Janglat Mandi area of Islamabad district in south Kashmir.
