Danyal Chaudhry Emphasises Role of Sports in Youth Development

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry has announced cricket trials in Rawalpindi, aimed at identifying and nurturing young sporting talent across the country.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a kabaddi event organised by the Punjab Sports Board, he said a structured system is being introduced to strengthen sports development and provide better opportunities for youth.

Merit-Based Selection Process

He said the upcoming trials will select players purely on merit across different age groups, including:

  • 10 players from the Under-23 category
  • 2 players from the Under-19 category
  • 4 players from junior age groups

Training and Future Opportunities

Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said selected players will be given professional coaching, structured training, and exposure opportunities. The initiative is designed to strengthen divisional teams and build a pathway for future national-level players.

He described sports as an important tool for social development and youth engagement, helping promote discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition.
