Lahore – Hyderabad Kingsmen struggled under pressure and were bowled out for 129 in 18 overs against Peshawar Zalmi in the HBL PSL 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night.
According to Beyond Time News, Saim Ayub played a fighting knock and remained unbeaten on 54 off 50 balls. His effort helped Kingsmen reach a modest total after a collapse in the middle order.
Zalmi’s bowlers dominated the innings. Aaron Hardie led the attack with an impressive spell and took four wickets for 27 runs. His performance broke the backbone of the Kingsmen batting lineup.
Kingsmen started well but failed to build partnerships. They lost wickets at regular intervals and could not recover from a sudden collapse during the middle overs.
Key players including Usman Khan, Irfan Khan, Glenn Maxwell, and Kusal Perera fell cheaply. Two of the dismissals came through poor running between the wickets.
Only four batters reached double figures. Marnus Labuschagne scored 20 runs, while Maaz Sadaqat and Hassan Khan added 11 and 12 runs respectively. Saim Ayub stood out with a composed innings under pressure.
Nahid Rana also supported Zalmi’s bowling attack and claimed two wickets for 22 runs. Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit picked up one wicket each.
Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, now need 130 runs to win the PSL title. The team will look to secure their second championship after their first triumph in 2017.
