MUNICH: Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany says he is fully calm and focused ahead of a high-stakes UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Beyond Time News, Bayern trail after a dramatic 5–4 defeat in the first leg in Paris, setting up a tense return match in Munich.
“Total Calm” Before a Massive Test
Kompany said he is not overwhelmed by the pressure of the occasion. He described his mindset as one of “inner tranquility” and said he is focusing entirely on preparation.
He added that he is carefully choosing his words for the team, hoping to give players a small but decisive boost before kickoff.
Despite criticism over Bayern conceding five goals in the first leg, Kompany defended his approach and said he believes in maintaining consistency rather than major tactical changes.
“No Big Changes” in Philosophy
The Bayern coach dismissed comparisons with former manager Pep Guardiola, saying claims of drastic changes in big matches are “media nonsense.”
He stressed that success comes from reinforcing what the team already does well, while fine-tuning key details for big games.
Kompany also said fans in Munich still believe in the team after Bayern’s Bundesliga title win, adding that the squad wants to create another memorable European night.
Players Embrace the Challenge
Bayern defender Jonathan Tah admitted the first leg was chaotic but said the match remains enjoyable because of the excitement and intensity.
He said players must never lose sight of their passion for football, especially in high-pressure matches like this one.

PSG Draw Confidence from Past Success
On the other side, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique returns to Munich with strong memories of past success at the venue.
He recalled previous Champions League victories there and said those experiences add motivation for his team.
A Wide-Open Second Leg
Luis Enrique expects another intense match, similar to the first leg, where both teams played aggressively and refused to hold back.
With both sides in strong form and little separating them, the tie remains wide open.
Fans now await a decisive night in Munich, where one team will secure a place in the Champions League final.
