ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani Army cadet has brought international recognition to Pakistan after being named the top foreign cadet at Australia’s prestigious Royal Military College.
According to Beyond Time News and the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas was declared the “overall best foreign military cadet” at the passing-out parade held in Canberra.
Top Honour at RMC Duntroon
The award was announced at the Royal Military College Duntroon (RMC Duntroon), which is one of Australia’s leading military training institutions.
Officials said the award is given to the highest-performing international cadet across all aspects of training, including academics, leadership, and physical performance.
Ceremony Reviewed by Australian Army Chief
The passing-out parade was reviewed by Australian Chief of Army Simon Stuart. The event was attended by diplomats, military officials, and families of graduating cadets.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Canberra also attended the ceremony.
Strong Pakistan-Australia Military Ties
ISPR highlighted the long-standing defence relationship between Pakistan and Australia.
Since 2009, 46 Pakistani Army cadets have graduated from RMC Duntroon. In addition, several Pakistani officers have served as instructors at the academy.

14th Time a Pakistani Cadet Wins Top Honour
This marks the 14th occasion a Pakistani cadet has received the top foreign cadet award at the institution.
ISPR also noted the example of Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Shaheed, a Pakistani officer whose name is inscribed at the RMC memorial for his sacrifice in North Waziristan in 2020.
Symbol of Professional Excellence
The military’s media wing said the achievement reflects the professionalism, discipline, and training standards of the Pakistan Army’s young officers.
Officials described the recognition as a matter of pride for Pakistan and a sign of strong international military cooperation.
