KUALA LUMPUR: A boat carrying 37 undocumented migrants believed to be from Indonesia capsized near Pangkor island off Malaysia’s west coast, leaving 14 people missing, authorities said.
Rescue Operation
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said 23 survivors were rescued after a local fisherman alerted authorities early Monday upon spotting people in the water.
Search and rescue operations are continuing to locate the missing passengers.
