Doha, Ankara Back Pakistan’s Mediation Efforts to End US-Israeli War on Iran

Doha: Qatar and Turkiye have expressed support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at helping end the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran, as regional tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

Qatar Supports Diplomatic Efforts

According to Beyond Time News, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed the worsening regional situation during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

He said the conflict has created serious instability in the Middle East, particularly due to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted maritime movement and affected Gulf economies.

The Qatari premier stressed that regional issues should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue with Iran, while also supporting continued backchannel negotiations to help end the conflict.

Concerns Over Strait of Hormuz Crisis

Officials warned that tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz are having major economic consequences, especially for Gulf states dependent on energy exports and shipping routes.

The near-closure of the strategic waterway has disrupted global oil and gas supplies, pushing energy prices higher and creating uncertainty in international markets.

Iran Warns Over Uranium Enrichment

In a fresh warning, Iranian parliamentary spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei said Iran could consider enriching uranium up to 90% purity — a level considered weapons-grade — if the country faces further attacks.

The statement comes amid continued disagreement between Tehran and Washington over Iran’s nuclear programme and regional security demands.

Israeli and US Involvement Expands

Reports also claimed that Israel deployed Iron Dome missile defence systems and personnel to the United Arab Emirates during the conflict to help counter potential Iranian strikes.

Meanwhile, the United States has imposed additional sanctions targeting companies and individuals accused of helping Iran export oil to China.

Qatar Says High Chance of US–Iran Diplomatic Breakthrough Amid Ongoing Talks

Peace Deal Prospects Remain Uncertain

Efforts for a ceasefire appeared to weaken after former US President Donald Trump reportedly rejected Iran’s latest proposal, describing it negatively while accusing Tehran of making unacceptable demands.

Iran has demanded an end to military actions across the region, recognition of its rights in the Strait of Hormuz, and compensation for war-related damages.

Regional Tensions Continue

The ongoing conflict has increased fears of broader instability in the Middle East, with diplomatic efforts intensifying to prevent further escalation and restore regional peace.
