Saudi Arabia and Russia Launch Visa-Free Travel for Citizens

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Russia have officially launched a mutual visa-free travel agreement, allowing citizens of both countries to travel without visas from May 11.

Easier Travel Between Both Countries

According to Beyond Time News, the agreement is expected to strengthen tourism, business cooperation, and cultural exchange between Riyadh and Moscow.

Officials said the move reflects growing ties between the two countries and will encourage greater people-to-people interaction.

Certain Categories Not Included

The visa-free arrangement does not apply to travel for employment, education, residency, or Hajj-related purposes. Travelers in those categories will still need to follow existing visa procedures.

Growing Bilateral Relations

The agreement comes as Saudi Arabia and Russia mark 100 years of diplomatic relations, highlighting expanding cooperation in several sectors.

The visa waiver deal was signed in Riyadh in December 2025 during talks between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

Positive Response From Business Sector

Business communities in both countries have welcomed the decision, saying simplified travel will help boost trade, investment, and commercial partnerships.
