How to Use the ‘Apna Meter’, Apni Reading’ App for Electricity Billing in Pakistan

Islamabad — The Government of Pakistan has launched a new mobile app called “Apna Meter, Apni Reading” to bring greater transparency and accuracy to electricity billing across the country.

Introduced under the supervision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and developed by the Power Information Technology Company (PITC), the app allows consumers to submit their own meter readings directly — helping avoid overbilling and incorrect charges.

How to Get Started

Getting set up on the app is simple and straightforward:

  • Download the app from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone)
  • Register your Consumer ID(s)
  • On meter-reading day, photograph your meter
  • Upload the image before the deadline to ensure accurate billing
