Sindh Revises Eid-ul-Adha 2026 Holidays Schedule Across the Province

Karachi | According to Beyond Time News:
The Sindh government has updated its holiday schedule for Eid-ul-Adha 2026, confirming revised public holidays across the province. The new notification sets official Eid holidays from May 26 to May 28.

The decision applies to all government departments, semi-government bodies, and autonomous institutions operating across Sindh.

Provincial Offices and Municipal Bodies Included in Holiday Plan

According to the revised notification issued under the approval of Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, all local councils and municipal corporations will also remain closed during the Eid holidays.

The government has instructed that normal administrative activities will pause during the official break period.

However, essential service departments will continue working as usual to ensure uninterrupted public services across the province.

Work-from-Home Policy on May 29

The Sindh government has further directed that all provincial offices will operate under a work-from-home arrangement on May 29. This step aims to maintain continuity in administrative tasks while still extending Eid relief to employees.

At the same time, departments involved in budget preparation and financial planning will remain active during the holiday period. Officials will continue working to complete key fiscal responsibilities on time.

Alignment with Federal Eid Holidays

Earlier, the federal government announced a three-day Eid holiday from May 26 to May 28 for all federal institutions.

Private offices and federal departments will also remain closed during this period.

Meanwhile, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed that Eid-ul-Adha 2026 will be observed from May 27 to May 29, following the official Zil Hajj moon sighting in Karachi.
