Cloudburst Triggers Flooding in Reasi, Woman Found Dead in Srinagar Incident

Jammu: A cloudburst in the Reasi district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir triggered flash flooding on Thursday evening, damaging several houses but causing no reported fatalities.

According to Beyond Time News, the sudden cloudburst in the Bathoi area led to heavy water flow and debris entering residential settlements, submerging homes and damaging household belongings. The incident also caused panic among local residents.

Repeated Cloudburst Incidents in Jammu Region

Officials said this was the fifth cloudburst incident in the Jammu region within the past three days.

Earlier, cloudbursts in Doda, Kishtwar, and Poonch districts had caused flooding and disrupted road connectivity in several areas.

Local authorities and rescue teams carried out relief and rehabilitation operations in the affected regions.

Homes Damaged, Relief Operations Underway

In Reasi’s Bathoi area, floodwaters inundated several houses, forcing emergency response teams to assist affected families.

Officials confirmed that while property damage was reported, no loss of life occurred in the latest incident.

Woman Found Dead in Srinagar

Separately, a 36-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Srinagar’s Lal Bazaar area.

Reports said the woman was found hanging inside her home. She was immediately taken to Soura hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Police Launch Investigation

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated legal and procedural action to determine the cause of death.

Further investigation is underway.
