Karachi: In a major anti-corruption move, DIG South Asad Raza has suspended 19 police personnel over alleged misconduct and illegal activities.
According to Beyond Time News, the action follows a strict campaign against corruption and smuggling. Officials from District Keamari police were found involved in unlawful practices, prompting immediate disciplinary action.
The suspended officers include Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Head Constables, and Constables from different police stations. All have been shifted to the Suspended Men Company at Garden Headquarters, where they must attend daily roll calls while the investigation continues.
Despite the suspension, their salaries will be paid as per rules until the inquiry is completed. Authorities have also ordered a formal investigation to determine the extent of involvement.
