The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has voiced strong concern over the continued detention of its president, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, highlighting delays in legal proceedings and raising questions about the handling of his case.
Concerns Over Delay in Bail Process
According to Beyond Time News, the DFP has criticized the National Investigation Agency for what it describes as unnecessary delays in granting bail to Shabbir Shah.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, party spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal said the situation remains troubling, especially in light of a court ruling that supported bail.
Allegations of Repeated Legal Actions
The spokesperson claimed that Shah continues to face new legal challenges even after securing bail in previous cases. He described this pattern as a cycle that keeps detainees in custody for extended periods.
According to Beyond Time News, the party believes such practices place added pressure on prisoners and their families.
Concerns Over Legal Process and Evidence
DFP representatives also raised concerns about the pace of the legal process. They stated that authorities have not presented strong evidence despite Shah’s long period in detention.
They further emphasized the importance of following court decisions and maintaining transparency in legal proceedings.
