APHC-AJK seeks intervention by UN chief to resolve Kashmir dispute

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has appealed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to resolve the Kashmir dispute by granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination, as per UN resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a memorandum submitted to the UN office in Islamabad on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day,today, APHC-AJK reminded the UN chief of promises made to Kashmiris. The delegation, led by Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Mir Tahir Masood, Hassan Al-Bana, Syed Ajaz Rehmani, and Imtiaz Wani, stated that Kashmiris’ sacrifices for self-determination have been ongoing for over seven decades.

The memorandum criticized the UN and world powers’ silence, saying it emboldens India to continue state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. It emphasized that resolving the Kashmir dispute according to Kashmiris’ aspirations is crucial for lasting peace in South Asia.
