Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has expressed concern over the continued underdevelopment of the Chenab Valley, calling for divisional status and better connectivity to harness the region’s true potential.
According to Beyond the Time News, while addressing a public gathering in Doda, Mehbooba Mufti emphasized the urgent need for a High Court division bench, rail links, and the construction of tunnels to ensure all-weather connectivity for the area.

She highlighted the region’s tourism potential and called for sustainable development through the Doda Development Authority.
Mufti demanded a Cluster University, upgraded education and health facilities, a women’s degree college, and skill-based institutions. She advocated for transparent blue sapphire mining, saying it should be opened to the public under existing laws to benefit local communities.
