PM Shehbaz Highlights “Historic” Pakistan-China Ties in Meeting With Chinese Business Delegation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and “historic” relations with China during a meeting with a visiting Chinese business delegation.

According to Beyond Time News, the prime minister met an 11-member delegation led by Qian Xiaojun, founder and president of IBI Beijing United Technology.

Strong Bilateral Relations Emphasised

The Prime Minister’s Office said Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the delegation and described Pakistan and China as “all-weather strategic cooperative partners.”

According to Beyond Time News, he praised China’s development achievements under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and expressed optimism about strengthening cooperation during his upcoming visit to China.

Focus on Digital Economy Cooperation

The delegation discussed opportunities for expanding business-to-business cooperation, particularly in the digital economy, industrial collaboration, and investment facilitation.

According to Beyond Time News, the prime minister highlighted Pakistan’s interest in attracting investment in technology-driven sectors and strengthening economic partnerships.

The Chinese delegation said its company aims to support Pakistan’s digital transformation by developing infrastructure and creating new opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Plans for Digital Economy Expansion

Qian Xiaojun said the company plans to establish a Digital Economy headquarters in Pakistan, which would serve as a central hub for future cooperation and development initiatives.

According to Beyond Time News, he added that the initiative would help connect Pakistani businesses to wider Chinese markets and support long-term economic collaboration.

Background of Business Engagement

The visit followed the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference held in Beijing in September 2025 during the prime minister’s earlier visit to China.

Officials said such engagements reflect growing economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in technology and industrial development sectors.
