LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced an extension of Basant celebrations across Lahore until 5:00am on Monday, citing the festive yet disciplined atmosphere witnessed during the event, Beyond the Time News reported on Sunday.
In a message posted on X, the chief minister said the decision was taken in view of the vibrant, safe and well-organised celebrations across Lahore and other parts of Punjab, marking the return of Basant after a gap of 25 years.
“Seeing the remarkable energy, unity and joy across Lahore, Punjab and Pakistan, I am pleased to announce that Basant celebrations will continue till 5:00am tomorrow morning,” she said.
