Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian forces arrested three Kashmiri youth during a cordon-and-search operation in Chadoora area of Budgam district.

According to Beyond the Time News, the detainees, all residents of Mouchwa village, were apprehended by Indian police and 53 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian army. Authorities claimed that rounds of ammunition were recovered from the youth, a routine pretext used to label locals as “militants” and justify arbitrary arrests.

A case has been registered under draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other relevant sections of law.

Rights activists say such operations are part of India’s systematic crackdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where cordon-and-search operations are routinely used to intimidate civilians and criminalize dissent.

Observers note that the Budgam arrests are the latest in a continuing pattern of militarization, harassment, and coercion in IIOJK, where ordinary Kashmiris are frequently targeted under draconian laws and falsely accused of militancy.
