Youth Ambassador Prince Harry Helped Her “Feel Less Alone”

AUSTRALIA: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been praised by young mental health advocates after an emotional discussion on youth wellbeing, where participants said the Duke’s openness helped them feel understood, according to Beyond Time News.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently met with Live4Life youth ambassadors at Swinburne University of Technology during a forum focused on regional and rural youth mental health. The event was organised in collaboration with Australian mental health organisation Batyr.

Focus on Rural Youth Mental Health

The session, titled “Regional & Rural Youth Voices: Shaping the Future of Mental Health,” brought together young leaders working on suicide prevention and mental health awareness in rural Australia.

Participants discussed the challenges faced by young people living outside major cities, especially limited access to mental health support services.

Emotional Reflections from Participants

After the discussion, several youth ambassadors shared their experiences and praised the royal couple for listening closely.

Jewel, a youth ambassador from Baw Baw, said Prince Harry’s honesty about his own mental health struggles had a strong impact on her.

She said his openness made her “feel less alone” and helped her better understand her own experiences.

Another participant, Jessica, also from Baw Baw, said it was meaningful to speak directly with Harry and Meghan. She appreciated that they took time to understand youth perspectives and support open conversations about mental health.
