Road rage incident escalates into assault and firing; suspect escapes after attack
KARACHI: A young man was shot and beaten following a traffic accident on the Super Highway, in a shocking case of road rage that has raised serious safety concerns.
According to Beyond Time News, the incident began after a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle on the busy road.
Minor Accident Turns Into Violent Attack
Witnesses said the driver of the car lost his temper after the crash. The situation quickly escalated on the spot.
The driver allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire on the motorcyclist. He also assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.
The injured man had reportedly stopped at a nearby hotel with a friend for tea before the incident occurred.
Video Evidence Captured at Scene
People present at the location recorded videos of the attack. The footage is now part of the investigation.
Police said the suspect escaped immediately after the shooting.
Police Launch Search Operation
According to Beyond Time News, police registered a case soon after the incident.
Authorities also detained the suspect’s brother for questioning. Raids continue across different areas to locate the main accused.
A Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) confirmed that teams are actively searching for the suspect and trying to track his movements.

Rising Concern Over Road Rage Cases
Officials said they are treating the case seriously due to the use of a weapon in a public place.
Police also pointed to similar past incidents in Karachi involving road rage and armed violence.
In one earlier case in Clifton, authorities applied anti-terrorism sections after a shooting incident during a traffic dispute. That case involved an FBR inspector who was seriously injured.
Investigators continue to examine whether stronger legal charges may apply in the current Super Highway case as well.

Authorities have assured that they will arrest the suspect soon and bring him to justice.
