Punjab Launches Sales Tax Services at e-Khidmat Markaz

Lahore: The Punjab government has introduced new sales tax services at e-Khidmat Markaz centres to make tax payments easier for businesses and citizens. According to Beyond Time News, the initiative aims to improve public convenience and simplify the tax submission process across the province.

The new service allows businesses and service providers to submit sales taxes through a secure and user-friendly system available at e-Khidmat centres.

New Facility to Improve Tax Services

Punjab Information Technology Board announced the launch of the new facility in an official statement.

The board said the service will help taxpayers complete their sales tax obligations more smoothly while reducing delays and unnecessary difficulties.

Officials added that the system will support better tax compliance and provide a faster process for timely payments.

Services Available Across Punjab

According to Beyond Time News, the sales tax services will remain available from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

The e-Khidmat Markaz network currently provides more than 165 services linked to 21 government departments. These services operate through 15 centres across 14 districts of Punjab.

Officials said the initiative has already served more than 10 million citizens since its launch.

e-Khidmat Markaz Expanded Over the Years

The Punjab government first launched e-Khidmat Markaz in Rawalpindi in 2015 with only 17 public services at a single centre.

Over time, the system expanded significantly to improve access to government services in different cities.

Lahore now has two e-Khidmat centres operating in two shifts to manage increasing public demand and improve convenience for residents.

Marriage Certificate Service Also Available

Earlier, the Punjab government introduced an online marriage certificate facility through selected e-Khidmat centres.

According to Beyond Time News, citizens can now obtain marriage certificates through a quicker and more secure process without facing lengthy paperwork or complicated procedures.

Punjab Information Technology Board said the government plans to continue expanding digital public services to improve transparency, efficiency, and ease for citizens across Punjab.
