Lahore β The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing sweeping changes to its central contract system, with new agreements expected from July 1, sources confirm.
According to Beyond Time News, the current financial model β in place since 2023 under former chairman Zaka Ashraf β expires on June 30. It has remained unchanged under current chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who will make the final decision on the new structure.
What to Expect
The new contracts will be driven by player fitness and performance, with promotions and demotions across categories expected. Last year, 30 players received contracts, with no one placed in Category A β a first in PCB history.

According to Beyond Time News, Mohammad Nawaz, Abdullah Shafique, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, and Khushdil Shah are all unlikely to retain their contracts.

Domestic performers Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal are strong candidates for inclusion in the new cycle.
