Karachi Police Arrest Main Suspect in Brutal Newlywed Couple Murder Case

Karachi: Police have arrested the main suspect in the killing of a newlywed couple in what investigators say is a shocking honour-related murder case. According to Beyond Time News, the arrest marks a major breakthrough in the investigation, though another suspect remains at large.

Suspect Confesses to Killing Sister and Brother-in-Law

Police identified the arrested suspect as Sajid, who reportedly confessed to killing his sister Nadia and her husband Nazirullah in Karachi’s Saudabad area.

According to investigators, the couple had entered a love marriage against family wishes, which allegedly triggered the deadly attack.

Police said the couple had eloped and married of their own free will, despite earlier family opposition.

Dispute Over Engagement Money Reported

Investigators revealed that the woman’s family had previously arranged her engagement with another man in exchange for Rs350,000.

However, the woman refused the arranged match and chose to marry Nazirullah instead.

According to Beyond Time News, during questioning the suspect claimed that the former fiancé demanded repayment of the money and allegedly pressured the family after the engagement broke down.

Attack Planned and Executed on Motorcycle

Police said Sajid admitted he carried out the attack along with another suspect, identified as Gopang, who remains at large.

According to investigators, the victims were ambushed while travelling from Malir Court towards Hyderabad.

CCTV footage reportedly shows two men on a motorcycle approaching the couple’s vehicle before one of them opened fire at close range.

The attackers escaped the scene immediately after the shooting.

Court Appearance Before Killing

Police said the couple had appeared before the Malir Court on the day of the incident, where they confirmed they had married of their own free will and submitted their nikahnama.

The court reportedly released them after recording their statement.

According to Beyond Time News, shortly after leaving the court premises, they were intercepted and shot dead in Saudabad.
