Jammu: Leaders from Rajouri and Poonch districts have demanded the establishment of a law university in the Pir Panjal region, citing long-pending educational and developmental aspirations.
According to Beyond the Time News, a meeting of stakeholders unanimously adopted a resolution seeking the establishment of the said university to expand access to quality legal education and strengthen the justice delivery system.
Former Minister Chowdhary Zulfiqar Ali emphasized the demand is rooted in equity, justice, and inclusive growth. DDC Chairman Rajouri Naseem Liaqat read out the resolution, highlighting the proposed university’s focus on constitutional values, human rights, and environmental protection.
The leaders urged authorities to allocate land, funding, and statutory approvals for the institution, citing benefits for local youth and socio-economic development. A coordinated democratic movement is planned until the demand is met.
