Srinagar: Fresh snowfall in the region has forced the closure of the crucial Leh–Srinagar highway, disrupting travel between the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh. According to Beyond Time News, heavy snow at Zojila Pass has made the route unsafe for vehicles.
Snowfall Shuts Key Mountain Pass
Zojila Pass, a vital link connecting Kashmir with Ladakh, has been closed following significant snowfall. The affected areas include the Zojila–Drass stretch and nearby high-altitude regions.
Snowfall was also reported in parts of Kargil, Zanskar, and Leh, further impacting connectivity across the region.
Other Areas Also Affected
The weather system extended to several other locations, including Gurez Valley in Bandipora and the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district, where snowfall was also recorded.
In addition, the Mughal Road—linking the Kashmir Valley with Rajouri and Poonch districts—has been affected by snow, leading to further travel disruptions.
Rainfall Lowers Temperatures in Plains
