Rawalpindiz Secure First PSL 11 Victory with Win Over Islamabad United

Rawalpindiz finally got off the mark in PSL 11 with a confident win over Islamabad United, thanks to a balanced team effort in Karachi.

According to Beyond Time News, Rawalpindiz chased down a 138-run target in the 19th over, losing four wickets, with captain Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Ghulam leading the charge.

Steady Chase After Early Setback

The run chase started on a rough note as Abdullah Fazal was dismissed on the very first ball. However, Rizwan and Ghulam quickly stabilized the innings with a solid partnership that eased early pressure.

The duo added 78 runs together, taking the team past the 50-run mark. Ghulam played an impressive knock of 42 runs off 30 balls, including five boundaries and a six, before being dismissed.

Rizwan followed soon after, scoring a crucial 45 off 38 deliveries. A quick run-out of Sam Billings added some tension, but Daryl Mitchell and Dian Forrester calmly guided the team to victory. Mitchell remained unbeaten on 32, while Forrester chipped in with 13 runs to seal the win.

Rawalpindiz Bowlers Restrict Islamabad United

Earlier, Rawalpindiz delivered an excellent bowling performance to restrict Islamabad United to 137 runs in 20 overs.

Islamabad had a slow start, with early wickets putting them under pressure. Mohammad Amir struck first, dismissing Sameer Minhas, while Naseem Shah removed Mohammad Faiq soon after.

Saad Masood further tightened the grip by dismissing Shadab Khan cheaply, leaving Islamabad struggling early in the innings.

Middle Order Fights Back Briefly

Devon Conway and Mark Chapman tried to rebuild the innings with a steady partnership, pushing the total past 50. Conway scored a fighting 40, but his dismissal by Daryl Mitchell halted momentum.

Chapman added 23 runs, but regular wickets kept Islamabad from building a strong total. Late resistance came from Chris Green, who scored a quick 29 off 16 balls to take the score past 100.

Clinical Finish Seals the Win

Islamabad’s innings ended at 137, and Rawalpindiz’s composed chase ensured their first victory of the season.

With both bat and ball performing well, this win gives Rawalpindiz a much-needed boost as PSL 11 continues.
