Punjab has launched a new agriculture support programme called “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” to improve rural incomes and support landless farmers, according to Beyond Time News.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the scheme’s online portal, aimed at providing farmland and financial assistance to eligible families.
Land Allotment for Farmers
Under the initiative, agricultural land will be distributed among thousands of rural families across Punjab, including Cholistan, to promote farming and self-reliance.
Officials said the programme is designed to help landless farmers earn a stable income through agriculture.
Financial Assistance and Lease System
Selected beneficiaries will also receive financial support for farming needs. The land will be allotted strictly for agricultural use under a lease-based system.
Online Application Process
Farmers will be able to apply through the official government portal within the announced dates. A transparent selection process, including balloting where needed, will be used for final allocation.

Focus on Agricultural Use Only
Authorities have made it clear that the land cannot be used for construction and must be used only for farming purposes.
Agriculture experts will guide farmers, while monitoring teams will regularly check progress to ensure proper cultivation.
The scheme is being seen as a major step toward strengthening agriculture and boosting rural livelihoods in Punjab.
