According to Beyond Time News, a tragic accident in Muzaffargarh’s Alipur area claimed the life of a young girl, while a boy remains missing after both children fell into a canal while playing near its bank.
Rescue teams launch search operation
Rescue 1122 teams quickly reached the site and launched a search operation in the deep canal, which is reportedly over 60 feet deep. Divers searched the water for hours to trace the missing children.
The body of a five-year-old girl was later recovered near Matma Wali Bridge, about 20 kilometres away, and was handed over to the family.

A six-year-old boy also went missing in the incident, and rescue teams continued efforts to locate him.
How the incident happened
According to initial reports, both children slipped into the canal while playing near the water. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
