Agha outlines aggressive chase plan in Bangladesh Test

Pakistan all-rounder Salman Ali Agha has signalled an attacking approach for the final day of the first Test against Bangladesh, saying his team is ready to chase a tricky target if required.

Speaking after day four at the press conference, he said Pakistan’s main focus is to bowl Bangladesh out quickly and then assess the chase.

“We just want to get them out as quickly as possible,” he said. “That’s our strategy.”

Bold target mindset from Pakistan

Agha also backed Pakistan to chase around 260 runs in 70 overs if the situation demands it. He added that Pakistan will not hold back if the opportunity comes.

“We will go for the win,” he said. “If they give us 260 in 70 overs, we will definitely go for it.”

He also suggested Bangladesh might avoid setting such an aggressive target, calling it a risky approach.

Bangladesh still in control after rain-hit day

Meanwhile, Bangladesh finished day four on 152-3 in their second innings, leading by 179 runs.

Bangladesh national cricket team were steadied by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who remained unbeaten on 58.

Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim also stayed not out as the pair resisted Pakistan’s attack late in the day.

Weather interruptions shape contest

The fourth day was heavily affected by rain. The second session after lunch was completely washed out, which slowed Pakistan’s momentum.

When play resumed, Bangladesh built a strong partnership between Shanto and Mominul Haque, adding 105 runs for the third wicket.

Pakistan eventually broke through when Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Mominul for 56. After that, Bangladesh held firm until bad light stopped play.

Final-day scenario

With one day left, the match remains open. Pakistan are aiming for early wickets, while Bangladesh will look to set a challenging target before the final innings begins.
