Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) continues to face severe restrictions under what it described as India’s military occupation, according to Beyond Time News.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said military operations, house raids and the summoning of young people to police stations for verification have increased the difficulties faced by residents.
He said people in the territory have been living under constant restrictions since August 5, 2019.
APHC Raises Concerns Over Security Measures
According to Beyond Time News, the APHC said additional troop deployments ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra have further tightened security across the territory.
The organization claimed that Indian authorities have transformed IIOJK into what it called a “gigantic prison” in the name of providing security to Hindu pilgrims.
It said the fresh deployment would add to the large number of troops already stationed across the territory.
