Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme 2026 – Eligibility & Criteria

LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” programme. The scheme aims to lease agricultural land to around 50,000 farmers at a highly subsidised rate of Rs100 per acre per year.

The initiative focuses on supporting landless individuals and strengthening agricultural activity across the province.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • The applicant must be landless, or own only a residential plot of up to 10 marlas.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of the same revenue estate where the land is located.
  • Only one family member can apply for a single allotment.
  • Applicants who already benefited from any government land scheme are not eligible.
  • Government employees (federal or provincial), staff of autonomous bodies, and their dependents cannot apply.

Application Procedure

Applicants can apply online through the Punjab Enterprise Land Record Authority (PELRA) website. They can also submit applications manually at the Assistant Commissioner’s office after the official schedule is announced.

A scrutiny and monitoring committee will review all applications. After approval by the district collector, officials will publish the list of eligible candidates online and display it at the Assistant Commissioner’s office.

Selection Process

Authorities will select successful applicants through computerized balloting. They will publish the final list online and display it at relevant offices.

After final approval, the district collector will issue allotment orders, and selected farmers will receive possession of the land.

Lease Terms and Rent

  • Lease duration: 10 years
  • Annual rent: Rs100 per acre
  • First-year rent must be paid within 30 days of possession
  • Later payments must be made annually by January 15

If a leaseholder fails to pay rent for more than six months, authorities may cancel the lease after a hearing.

Usage Conditions

Farmers must use the land only for agriculture. They cannot build permanent structures on it.

Ownership Rules

The government will retain ownership of all land. Leaseholders cannot transfer, mortgage, or sublease the property.

Authorities will conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with all rules.

The scheme forms part of the Punjab government’s broader strategy to boost agriculture, create jobs, and support small farmers across the province.
