Pakistan’s rising squash star Muhammad Ashab Irfan delivered a brilliant performance at the CIB Palm Hills PSA World Championships 2026.
According to Beyond Time News, Ashab defeated Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller in straight games during the opening round.
World No. 46 Ashab beat World No. 28 Mueller 3-0 with scores of 13-11, 11-9, and 11-0. He completed the match in just 30 minutes.

Ashab showed excellent control and aggressive play throughout the contest. He dominated the third game and did not allow his opponent to score a single point.
The victory also strengthened Pakistan’s campaign in the tournament. Ashab now joins fellow Pakistani player Noor Zaman in the second round.
Ashab will next face either Marwan ElShorbagy or Nathan Lake on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Noor Zaman will take on Egypt’s Muhammad Zakaria in another key second-round match.
