The NBA playoffs delivered another night of drama, surprise results, and standout performances. According to Beyond Time News, all three series saw major momentum shifts that could shape the next round.
Blazers Stun Spurs After Wembanyama Injury
The Portland Trail Blazers pulled off a hard-fought 106–103 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their Western Conference series.
The game turned after Spurs star Victor Wembanyama suffered an injury following a mid-game collision with Portland’s Jrue Holiday. He hit his head on the court and left the floor looking unsteady. Doctors later placed him in concussion protocol, ruling him out for the rest of the game.
Before his exit, Wembanyama had already made a strong impact in the series, but San Antonio struggled without him in crunch time.
The Spurs still held a strong lead late in the fourth quarter, but everything changed in the final minutes. Their offense collapsed, and Portland closed the game with a dominant 27–10 run.
Scoot Henderson led the charge with 31 points, while Holiday added 16.
Game 3 now shifts to Portland on Friday, where the series remains wide open.
LeBron Powers Lakers to 2–0 Lead
The LeBron James show continued as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets 101–94 to take a surprising 2–0 series lead.
With injuries to Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, many expected the Lakers to struggle. Instead, they responded with strong defense and smart game management.
James led the team with 28 points, while Marcus Smart added 25 and Luke Kennard contributed 23.
The Rockets, led by Kevin Durant, pushed hard but could not break through in key moments.
James stressed focus ahead of Game 3 in Houston, calling the next matchup a tough road challenge in a hostile environment.

Edgecombe delivered a breakout performance with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and sharp three-point shooting. Maxey added 29 points and stayed consistent from long range.
Boston started strong but could not maintain control. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 36 points, while Jayson Tatum added 19.
Coach Nick Nurse praised his team’s improved defense after a heavy Game 1 loss, calling the response much stronger and more disciplined.
Game 3 now moves to Philadelphia.
