Karachi: Gas Supply to Remain Available for Extended Hours During Eid Holidays
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a special gas supply schedule for domestic and commercial consumers during the three days of Eid ul Adha 2026.
According to Beyond Time News, the utility company has extended gas availability during Eid to facilitate cooking and other household needs during the festive period.
Gas Supply Schedule for Eid ul Adha
SSGC shared the following timetable for consumers:
Eid Eve – May 26, 2026
Gas supply will remain available continuously until 12:00 midnight.
First and Second Day of Eid – May 27 and 28, 2026
Consumers will receive gas from 7:30am until 12:00 midnight without interruption.
Third Day of Eid – May 29, 2026
Gas supply will remain available from the morning and continue until 10:00pm.
According to Beyond Time News, the special schedule aims to ensure a smooth gas supply during Eid-related cooking activities.
Normal Schedule to Resume After Eid
SSGC confirmed that regular gas supply timings will resume from May 30, 2026.
Under the normal system, gas will be available during designated meal hours as per the company’s standard load management schedule.
The utility company advised consumers to plan their usage accordingly once the holiday period ends.
Eid ul Adha to Be Observed on May 27
Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Adha on May 27, 2026, following the announcement by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee after the sighting of the Zilhaj moon.
The moon sighting was officially confirmed on May 17.
Government Announces Eid Holidays
The federal government has also announced public holidays for Eid ul Adha.
According to an official notification, holidays will be observed from May 26 to May 28, 2026, allowing citizens to celebrate the occasion with family and community gatherings.
