Iran has begun reviewing a fresh peace proposal from the United States, but tensions remain high as both sides continue to exchange warnings and conditions.
According to Beyond Time News, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that officials are carefully examining the US counter-offer aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
Iran Cautious Over US Proposal
Baghaei said the message reached Tehran through Pakistan, but officials have not finalised their response yet. He stressed that the proposal includes “excessive and unreasonable demands,” making the review process difficult.
At this stage, Iran is focusing only on ending the war. Discussions about nuclear issues, including enrichment, remain premature and largely speculative, he added.
Rising Tensions in the Strait of Hormuz
Meanwhile, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz continues to escalate. Iran’s military has warned US forces to stay away from the vital shipping route.
This warning came after US President Donald Trump announced plans to assist ships stranded in the region due to ongoing conflict.
Iranian officials responded firmly, stating that their forces control the security of the strait. They warned that any foreign military presence could trigger a strong reaction.
Control Claims and Security Concerns
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also released a new map outlining areas they claim to control in the strait. While details remain unclear, the move signals a stronger stance on regional security.
Authorities have advised commercial vessels to coordinate with Iranian forces before entering the area, highlighting the growing risks for global shipping.

US Launches “Project Freedom”
In response, the United States has initiated “Project Freedom,” a mission aimed at ensuring safe passage for commercial ships through the strait. The operation focuses on protecting trade routes and stabilising global supply chains.
Ongoing Negotiations, Uncertain Outcome
Although talks between Washington and Tehran continue, no breakthrough has emerged so far. Iran insists that the US must ease its demands before progress can be made.
For now, uncertainty dominates the situation. The outcome of these negotiations will play a key role in shaping regional stability and global energy markets.
