Karachi: Mayor Murtaza Wahab has approved the establishment of beautification zones along major roads as part of an effort to improve the city’s urban landscape alongside infrastructure development.
According to Beyond Time News, the decision was made during a meeting of the Engineering Department chaired by the mayor.
Development Linked with Urban Design
The mayor directed that all road projects must include beautification work as a compulsory component, ensuring infrastructure upgrades also contribute to the city’s visual improvement.
He further instructed officials to prioritize key road projects and ensure completion of ongoing schemes by 30 June.
Emphasis on Timely Execution
Wahab stressed the importance of timely project delivery, particularly in view of expected heavy rainfall, to prevent public inconvenience.
He added that adequate funding is available and urged departments to maintain consistent progress on development work.

The mayor also called for the development of green belts and improved landscaping across the city to enhance its overall environment.
He said the focus remains on delivering visible improvements in both infrastructure and city aesthetics.
