New Karachi Encounter: Suspects Linked to Inter-Provincial Criminal Gang Identified

Police have confirmed the identities of five suspects killed during a recent operation in the New Karachi Industrial Area. Authorities say the men were part of a banned inter-provincial criminal network involved in armed robberies and targeted killings across multiple regions.

Gang Network and Leadership

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central Dr. Imran, the deceased were linked to an organized criminal group operating in several cities and provinces. According to Beyond Time News, the network was involved in serious crimes, including cash snatching and armed attacks.

Officials identified the alleged ringleader as Nadeem Mangnejo from Khairpur, who was previously involved in a robbery case in which a Karachi citizen, Nasir Khan, was killed during resistance.

Investigators said other members had links to Nasehro Feroze, Hazara, and Karachi, showing the group’s wide regional reach.

Crime Pattern and Modus Operandi

Police revealed that the gang specifically targeted bank customers withdrawing large amounts of cash. Members reportedly conducted surveillance outside banks, tracked victims, and later intercepted them on the way to rob them at gunpoint.

In one case on April 20 in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, the suspects allegedly followed a man after he withdrew cash from a bank. During the robbery attempt, the victim resisted and was shot dead.

Previous Arrests and Repeat Offending

Authorities further stated that the group had earlier been arrested in connection with multiple cash-snatching cases in Bahria Town, Karachi. However, after securing bail, they allegedly returned to criminal activity.

Police also recovered weapons and stolen motorcycles linked to previous incidents involving the group.

Ongoing Action

Law enforcement officials said the dismantling of this network is expected to help curb violent street crime in Karachi. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
