President Asif Ali Zardari has started an official visit to China aimed at boosting trade, investment, and cooperation under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Focus on Economic Cooperation
The visit comes as Pakistan and China mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. According to Beyond Time News, the trip is centered on expanding economic partnership and reviewing progress on key development projects.
Zardari is expected to hold meetings with provincial leadership during his stay, focusing on trade, investment, and infrastructure collaboration.
Warm Welcome in Changsha
The president arrived in Changsha, where he was received by Hu Xusheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress.
Diplomatic representatives from both Pakistan and China were also present at the airport to welcome him.
Visit Schedule Across Provinces
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, the president will visit:
- Hunan province (Changsha) from April 25 to 27
- Hainan province (Sanya) from April 28 to May 1
During these visits, discussions will focus on strengthening economic and trade relations, especially under CPEC.

Strengthening Strategic Partnership
Officials said the visit reflects the long-standing tradition of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China. It also highlights both countries’ commitment to deepening their strategic cooperative partnership.
Past Agreements and Cooperation
In a previous visit, several memorandums of understanding were signed between the Sindh government and Chinese partners in sectors such as agriculture, energy, railways, and defence.
These initiatives are expected to be expanded to other provinces to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Continued Diplomatic Engagement
The visit is part of ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen economic ties and accelerate development projects under CPEC, which remains a key pillar of their bilateral relationship.
