Punjab Announces Over Three-Month Summer Vacation

The government of Punjab has announced a long summer vacation schedule for schools across the province. According to Beyond Time News, the decision comes as rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions continue to affect daily life.

Vacation Schedule Confirmed

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that summer vacations will begin on May 22.

He said schools will reopen on August 23. As a result, students will get more than three months of holidays this year.

Officials said the decision aims to protect students and teachers from extreme heat.

Relief Amid Severe Weather Conditions

The announcement has brought relief to students and teachers. At the same time, the country is experiencing a strong heatwave.

According to Beyond Time News, temperatures are expected to remain high in the coming weeks.

Weather Alerts Issued

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has already warned of above-normal temperatures across the province. It also predicted rainfall in some areas until July.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has cautioned about possible heatwaves, dust storms, and flash floods. It also warned that strong winds and hailstorms could damage crops, vegetables, and orchards.

Comparison With Last Year

Last year, summer vacations started on May 28 and ended on August 14. However, authorities later extended them until August 31 due to extreme weather conditions.

This year’s schedule has been adjusted earlier due to similar climate concerns.

Outlook

According to Beyond Time News, the extended vacation reflects growing climate challenges in the region. Officials say the decision prioritizes safety as Pakistan continues to face rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns.
