Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a 50-acre Film City project in Lahore to boost Pakistan’s film and digital media industry, according to Beyond Time News.
Modern Facilities Under One Roof
Planned within Nawaz Sharif IT City, the project will offer a complete production setup, including studios, sound stages, post-production labs, and full shooting spaces. It aims to support film, TV, animation, and digital content creation locally.
Jobs and Industry Growth
Officials say the Film City will create thousands of jobs and help expand sectors like animation, gaming, and media production. It will also include training institutes, a media trade hub, and event spaces for international shows.

Part of Larger Development Plan
The project is part of the 853-acre Nawaz Sharif IT City near PKLI, which will also feature IT zones, education facilities, and commercial areas. With an estimated cost of Rs100 billion, it aims to attract investment with incentives like a 10-year tax exemption.
Phased Construction Ahead
The Film City will be developed in phases, with construction expected to begin after planning and land transfer are completed. More details are likely to be announced soon.
