Sindh Rangers have arrested a key gang leader involved in multiple street crime and robbery cases during an intelligence-based operation in the Shah Faisal Colony area, according to Beyond Time News.
The suspect, identified as Nauman Ahmed alias “Papa,” is said to be the head of the so-called “Papa Gang.” Officials recovered two snatched mobile phones and a motorcycle from his possession at the time of arrest.
Involved in Hundreds of Crimes, Says Rangers
According to the official statement, the suspect and his group were involved in a large number of criminal activities across Karachi and parts of Punjab.
The gang allegedly carried out robberies, mobile snatching, motorcycle theft, and firing incidents in areas including Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, and nearby localities.
Beyond Time News reported that the suspect is linked to:
- Around 200 to 250 robbery cases
- Theft of 40 to 50 motorcycles
- Snatching of 300 to 400 mobile phones
- Cash theft worth Rs5 to Rs6 million
Criminal History and Prior Arrests
Officials said the suspect had previously been involved in similar crimes and was also arrested in Punjab on robbery charges.
He reportedly told investigators that he had been injured during a police encounter in Bhains Colony and later escaped another encounter in Shah Faisal Colony.
Multiple cases have already been registered against him in various police stations across Karachi and Punjab.

Accomplices Also Arrested
Rangers confirmed that two of the suspect’s accomplices had already been arrested earlier and sent to jail.
Search operations are ongoing to apprehend remaining members of the gang.
The arrested suspect has now been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.

The Rangers spokesperson urged citizens to report criminal elements through official channels, including Rangers check posts, the helpline 1101, and WhatsApp number 0347-9001111.
Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
