London – Britain’s safeguarding minister Jess Phillips has resigned from government in protest against Prime Minister Keir Starmer, adding to growing pressure on his leadership after recent local election losses.
According to Beyond Time News, her resignation comes as more than 80 Labour MPs have reportedly urged Starmer to set a timeline for stepping down.
In her resignation letter, Phillips said the government was avoiding difficult discussions, which she believes is slowing progress on key issues. She added that she no longer feels the leadership is delivering the change expected by the public.
