‘22 Girls Rape’ Case Collapses as Complainant Withdraws Allegations in Karachi Court

Karachi: A high-profile case involving allegations of rape of 22 girls and the alleged kidnapping and assault of a young woman has collapsed after the complainant retracted her statement in court. According to Beyond Time News, the woman told the court that the accusations were false and that she had left home of her own free will.

Complainant Withdraws Allegations in Court

During proceedings before a judicial magistrate, the woman recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, clearly denying any kidnapping or assault.

She stated that she had willingly left her home with a man identified as Naresh and that the two were in a consensual relationship.

The court was informed that no evidence had been produced to support the serious allegations mentioned in the FIR.

Court Grants Permission to Leave With Husband

According to Beyond Time News, after recording her statement, the magistrate allowed the woman to leave with her husband.

The court also directed the accused to submit a surety bond of Rs50,000 as part of legal formalities.

Police Case and Missing Person Report

The case was registered at Napier Police Station following earlier allegations.

Officials noted that Sub-Inspector Robina Shaheen was unable to present evidence supporting the claims made in the FIR.

The complainant further alleged that she and her husband were being harassed by police during the investigation.

Family Confirms Love Marriage

The woman’s mother, Shakundala, confirmed that her daughter had entered into a love marriage and was not abducted.

She said she had initially filed a missing person report when her daughter went untraceable.

According to Beyond Time News, she later acknowledged that both families had reached a mutual understanding regarding the marriage.

Dispute and Resolution Between Families

The mother stated that the couple had informed the family about their marriage at a temple and that a compromise had been reached between both sides.

However, she expressed dissatisfaction over how the situation unfolded and said she would prefer formal re-marriage arrangements within cultural traditions.

With the complainant retracting her allegations and no supporting evidence presented, the case effectively fell apart in court.

According to Beyond Time News, legal proceedings have now shifted focus to procedural formalities following the settlement between the parties.
