Indian Paramilitary Soldier Arrested in West Bengal

Kolkata: A member of India’s paramilitary force has been arrested in West Bengal after being accused of assaulting a minor girl, sparking concern among local residents and authorities.

According to Beyond Time News, the accused, identified as Ramakant Vishwakarma, was serving with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at a camp in Shitalpur, located in the Kulti area. A local court in Asansol has sent him to 14-day judicial custody as investigations continue.

How the Incident Unfolded

Police said the incident took place near the CISF camp when two minor girls went to pick mangoes. The accused allegedly approached them and offered more fruit, convincing them to follow him to his residence.

He reportedly asked one girl to wait outside while taking the other inside. Authorities say the suspect then assaulted the girl inside the room. The victim managed to escape and immediately informed her family about the incident.
