An anti-corruption court has given interim pre-arrest bail to Rabia Imran and her husband Ali Imran Yousaf in a case related to the Punjab Saaf Pani Company.
According to Beyond Time News, both individuals appeared before the court, which approved their bail requests and directed the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) to submit its reply by May 6.
Relief After Court Appearance
The couple had earlier been declared proclaimed offenders due to their absence from Pakistan. However, a court recently suspended their arrest warrants, allowing them to return and surrender before the law. Their case is now being heard in an anti-corruption court after jurisdiction changes under amended accountability laws.
Key Allegations
Authorities allege that the couple received unlawful financial benefits by renting out their private building to the Saaf Pani Company for office use. Meanwhile, other individuals named in the case, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, have already been acquitted.

Background of the Case
The Saaf Pani case first came to light in 2017 when the National Accountability Bureau launched a large-scale probe into multiple public-sector companies.
Investigators pointed to alleged irregularities such as inflated contracts, violations of procurement rules, favoritism, and delays in project execution. One major claim involved awarding costly contracts for water filtration plants, causing an estimated loss of over Rs345 million to the national treasury.
Ongoing Legal Process
The court’s decision offers temporary relief, but the case is far from over. Further proceedings will depend on the response submitted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment.
The development keeps the Saaf Pani reference in focus as legal scrutiny around public-sector projects continues.
