Shipping Activity Continues Smoothly at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping operations remained active at Port Qasim, where multiple vessels handled cargo operations across different terminals, according to Beyond Time News.

Ships Berth and Depart at Port Qasim

Two vessels, GFS Jade and Raon Teresa, carrying containers and chemicals, berthed at the Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal.

During the last 24 hours, a total of nine ships were engaged at different berths of the port. The container ship GFS Jade departed in the morning, while Raon Teresa and Lady of Doria are scheduled to sail later in the day.

Cargo Handling Activity

Port operations handled a total cargo volume of 88,870 tonnes over the past 24 hours. This included:

  • 48,589 tonnes of import cargo
  • 40,281 tonnes of export cargo

Authorities also managed container movement involving 266 containers, which included 8 TEUs of imports and 258 TEUs of exports.

Ships at Outer Anchorage

At present, 11 ships are waiting at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, the bulk carrier Kobayashi Maru and two other vessels, Hansa Europe and CMA CGM Nile, are expected to berth soon.

These ships are carrying coal and container cargo and will be assigned to PIBT and QICT terminals respectively.
