China Fireworks Factory Blast: Death Toll Rises to 37

The death toll from a fireworks factory explosion in China’s Hunan province has risen to 37, with one person still missing, according to state media reports cited by Beyond Time News.

The blast occurred on Monday at around 4:40pm in Liuyang, a major fireworks production hub known for supplying a large share of China’s domestic market and exports.

Casualties and Rescue Update

Rescue operations have been completed. Authorities said 51 injured people are being treated in hospitals.

The explosion is the deadliest industrial accident in China since the 2019 chemical plant blast in Jiangsu Province, which killed 78 people.
