Srinagar: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has criticised demolition drives in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, saying they are being carried out under the anti-drug campaign but are impacting innocent families.
According to Beyond Time News, she raised the issue while addressing a party convention in Budgam.
“Innocent Families Are Suffering”
Mehbooba Mufti said house demolitions are causing hardship to families, especially women and children, who are not involved in any wrongdoing. She said such actions are creating fear among people.
She stressed that action against drug-related offences should not result in collective punishment.

Questions Over Accountability
According to Beyond Time News, she also questioned why alleged corruption and irregularities linked to the release of suspects were not being investigated.
She said the continued use of demolitions as a policy approach was increasing public concern.
Criticism of Administration
Mehbooba Mufti further criticised the regional administration, saying people expected fair treatment and protection of their rights.
