Sindh Expands Peoples Bus Service With New Routes

The Sindh government is set to launch new routes under the Peoples Bus Service on May 12 to improve public transport facilities in interior parts of the province. According to Beyond Time News, the new routes aim to provide safe, affordable, and reliable travel options for daily commuters.

The latest expansion will connect Khairpur with Ranipur and Rohri, improving regional connectivity and making transportation easier for residents.

Sindh Government Focuses on Better Public Transport

Officials said the initiative reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to strengthening the province’s public transport network and ensuring comfortable and accessible travel for citizens.

The Peoples Bus Service has gradually expanded across Sindh in recent months as authorities work to improve transportation infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.

Earlier Route Connected Shikarpur and Sukkur

Earlier in April, the Sindh government launched the Peoples Bus Service between Shikarpur and Sukkur.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the project as a “gift” for the people of Shikarpur from Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari.

He urged citizens to protect the buses and treat them as public property meant for the benefit of the people.

Subsidised Fares for Passengers

Sharjeel Memon said the Sindh government would bear half of the transport fare, while passengers would pay the remaining amount. The subsidy aims to keep travel affordable for low- and middle-income commuters.

He also highlighted several welfare initiatives launched by the provincial government, including financial support for farmers, free fertiliser distribution, solar panel schemes, and transport assistance for motorcyclists.

More Relief Programs Announced

According to Beyond Time News, the minister said the Sindh government recently provided subsidies to more than 300,000 farmers for operating threshers during wheat harvesting season.

He added that authorities are also distributing free solar panels and encouraging women to apply for free pink scooties under the province’s women empowerment initiative.

The expansion of the Peoples Bus Service is expected to improve mobility, reduce travel difficulties, and provide a more dependable transportation system for residents across Sindh.
