Jammu: The Congress party in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has called for the immediate restoration of statehood and democratic governance, criticising the prevailing bureaucratic system for worsening public issues in the region.
Concerns Over Administrative System
According to Beyond Time News, Congress IIOJK working president Raman Bhalla said in Jammu that the current administrative setup has increased the gap between people and governance.
He stated that the absence of full statehood has left citizens without proper representation in decision-making processes.
Rising Economic and Social Challenges
Bhalla highlighted growing unemployment among educated youth, along with rising inflation that is putting pressure on middle- and low-income families.
He also pointed to difficulties in the private sector and tourism industry, saying these challenges have added to the economic strain in the region.

According to him, key sectors such as healthcare, education, and public development projects are also facing delays, while tourism-related facilities in areas like Gulmarg and Pahalgam remain neglected.
Demand for Restoration of Statehood
The Congress leader urged authorities to restore full statehood to IIOJK, arguing that it is essential for improving governance, accountability, and public welfare in the region.
